Pool Opens Tomorrow!

The Victor Gardens Pool will be opened tomorrow,  Saturday May 23. This according to Gina Lampe, our Community Manager with Community Development, Inc.

Other than the obvious safety rules, sometimes overlooked rules should be highlighted:
1.  No Glass!  Please leave your bottles at home.  If broken glass is discovered in the pool area, the entire pool may need to be drained, cleaned, and refilled.
2.  Swim Diapers!  This should be self explanatory.  Pool contamination requires closing, draining, cleaning, and re-filling. It’s a process that’s expensive for the Association, and closes the pool for many days. It’s also completely avoidable.  Please put swim diapers on kids that need them.

Math Quiz:   Question:  What do 65 families in the Single Family Village plus all of our Victor Gardens Townhomes neighbors equal?  Answer:  A crowded pool.  Don’t feel like a summer “Grinch” when someone you don’t know tells you the old line, “I forgot my pool key at home.  Please open the door for me?”   In addition to overcrowding, allowing non-residents into Victor Gardens’ pool unfortunately presents a legal liability issue for all homeowners in the Master Association

  1. To whom it may concern;

    There seems to be issues lately with the pool being closed and the cleanliness of the pool.

    There have been several recent Saturday days when we have gone up to the pool only to have a sign on the door saying the pool is "closed". There was also an incident of one of the pool workers telling all who was there that the pool was closed because he had to "shock" the pool. Shouldn't we be having the pool serviced during hours or days that make the pool accessible on weekends?

    The pool stairs also have what appears to be mold growing on the stairs. Please look into this ASAP.

    I am not sure if we have switched pool maintenance companies or not, but there sure seems to be a lot more down time then what there used to be.

    Please advise when you can.

  2. All,

    I heard reports of someone allowing their dog (large golden lab) to swim in the pool and rumors that it may have had an accident that caused one of the closures.

    - Does anyone know anything about this?
    - Who was that person?
    - Can the association take away their pool privileges or bill them for the pool maintenance?

  3. While more investigation/information on other points should be following, as to the shocking the pool, that is done due to unsanitary conditions governed by state regulations and results in immediate closure. It's unfortunate it needed to be done on a weekend, but was required.

    If there are concerns with the pool as to mold, seeing a dog in the pool, etc., you can always let the management company know at:

    I talked to the pool maintenance guys this morning as they were cleaning the drained pool. They said they have been having problems with the pumps, which are being repaired or replaced. The failure of the pumps has caused some mold/mildew to form in the pool, which they are removing today. They are hoping to have the pool cleaned, filled and reopened by possibly Sunday or Monday.
