Pool Open!

The Victor Gardens Pool is scheduled to open Friday May 28 at 10:00am. The new electronic key fob entry system is not yet in place, so you'll need to use your pool key to gain access for the time being.

Other than the obvious safety rules, sometimes overlooked rules should be highlighted:

1. No Glass! Please leave your bottles at home. If broken glass is discovered in the pool area, the entire pool may need to be drained, cleaned, and refilled.

2. Swim Diapers! This should be self explanatory. Pool contamination requires closing, draining, cleaning, and re-filling. It’s a process that’s expensive for the Association, and closes the pool for many days. It’s also completely avoidable. Please put swim diapers on kids that need them.
Also: Don’t feel like a summer “Grinch” when someone you don’t know tells you the old line, “I forgot my pool key at home. Please open the door for me?” In addition to overcrowding, allowing non-residents into Victor Gardens’ pool unfortunately presents a legal liability issue for all homeowners in the Victor Gardens Association
Questions about the pool can be directed to Kari Miller, Victor Gardens' Community Manager. (contacts page)

Reminder....VG Garage Sales May 20-22nd

As a reminder, we will be having our annual Victor Gardens Community yard sale this week/weekend. Hours will be 8:30-4P Thursday, May 20th through Saturday, May 22nd. We have placed ads in the St Paul Pioneer Press and the White Bear Press. We'll have a few signs around town but it's up to each homeowner to do their own directional signs within the neighborhood.
Please let Erin Yoshida know if you'll be participating. She can then help navigate shoppers your way! (kjetyoshi1@comcast.net)
Feel free to open your garage during any of the advertised times. The weather looks great so clean out your closets and make some $$!

Covenants to be the Subject of a Special SFV Board Meeting set for Monday, May 24, 7pm

Victor Gardens' Single Family Village Board is meeting on Monday, May 24th, 7:00PM at Victor Gardens' Neighborhood Activity Center. The Board will focus this meeting on compliance with the Covenants. The Board continues to hear from residents requesting the Board address issues including parking, garages, play equipment, dead/diseased boulevard trees, project completion timeframes, storage of building materials, dumping grass clippings, and more. Some of these complaints are addressed by Covenants. Others are not.
All Single Family Village residents are welcome and are encouraged to speak with the Board during the meeting's resident forum. For those residents who have specific concerns: Please prepare for the meeting by researching the specific Covenant or Rule that concerns you. A complete, keyword searchable PDF, list of Covenants, Bylaws & Rules is available on the Master Association page and the Single Family Association page. Reminder: Both the Master Association's Covenants, Bylaws & Rules apply in Victor Gardens Single Family Village.

New Electronic Pool Access Control System

Dear Victor Gardens Homeowner:

The Victor Gardens Master Board of Directors is pleased to announce that an Access Control System will be installed this spring at the pool in Victor Gardens Community.

This upgrade to our pool will enable the Association to achieve improved security and safety for the residents of Victor Gardens.

With the installation of the Access Control System, the Master Association Board of Directors hopes to eliminate after-hours swimming and vandalism together with the repair and replacement expenses associated with such activities.

This change will affect how you enter the pool. There will no longer be an entrance to the pool through the gate that surrounds the pool. The gate will be EMERGENCY exit only. The new entrance will be through the main pool house door.

The pool is scheduled to open on Friday May 28, 2010 at 10am. Unfortunately the card access system will not be completed in its entirety prior to the date the pool opens. Please continue to use the pool key you have until you receive your new key fob in the mail. It is anticipated that the Access Control System will be operational within a week or two of the date the pool opens.

Please contact our Community Manager, Kari Miller at 763-225-6424 or by email at kmiller@developcommunity.com with any questions.

Local Support

I'm sure many of you heard the tragic news of this family a few months ago. The woman organizing this event emailed me and asked that I post this on our VG website in hopes to gain support from more Hugo residents. (Click on the image to enlarge)

Thanks Casey!

Over the last few years, Casey Groff of Community Development Inc. has been Victor Gardens' Community Manager. She's been instrumental in smoothing the transition from our neighborhood's former developer to majority homeowner control.
Casey's helped in numerous ways: sorting out the financial mess left by CPDC, coordinating repairs and insurance claims after the tornado, holding contractors to high standards, and working closely with our residents to solve problems and efficiently manage the Association.
As of May 1, 2010 Casey will be moving forward within Community Development Inc. She will no longer serve as Victor Gardens Community Manager. We thank her for all of her dedication and hard work. We wish Casey all the best in the future!

Kari Miller Named Community Manager

Beginning May 1, 2010, Kari Miller will begin serving as Community Manager for Victor Gardens Community (Master) Association and Victor Gardens Single Family Village Homeowners Association. She will be taking over for Casey Groff, also of Community Development Inc. who previously held the position. Welcome Kari!
